Google Contacts is one of the best apps to use when storing personal and business phone numbers to keep in touch with companies, coworkers and friends. Google Contacts is available on the Web, and across devices and accessible on any device anytime, anywhere.
With the latest update to Contacts, Google launched a new Interface which is still in Preview mode, and has recently added an exciting new feature.
The latest update has made Contacts much more useful, especially to people visiting new places. From now on, as soon as you save a business’ official phone number that matches its info on Google Maps, its Contacts card will automatically show its Maps-verified name, official address, website URL and operational hours.
If you have previously added data to the Google Contact Web App then your information will not be overridden, rather the two sets of data will show up simultaneously. All information from Google Maps will be displayed below the information you have added previously.
This is one of the first new features added to Google Contacts since the preview rolled out. If you’re still on the old version of Contact you can activate the new one by clicking on “Try Contact Preview” in the left toolbar in Google Contacts.
The new Maps integration is set to roll out to all users in the coming days.
