Google Docs adds new option to export text files as ePub

Google added functionality to Google Docs to export long text documents as ePub files, largely compatible with almost every electronic reader and book reading app (except on Amazon Kindles as they have their own book format .mobi).

Reading long PDFs or word files on tablets or smartphones is the most annoying thing to do on a screen which the text was not formatted for, constantly having to zoom in and out just to read small text that spans three times the size of the screen.

This feature should make the consumption of some of these types of files much more enjoyable to readers of such content. Perhaps it will facilitate the actual conversion of ePub files from copied text.

The update is rolling out now and should be complete in a couple of days. To export as an ePub file, you can go to File > Download As > EPUB Publication (.epub).

You can also check how to issue commands using the voice typing feature in Google Docs Here. Google has introduced the Voice typing feature in Google Docs a while ago where it launched the ability to talk to your device and type your document. Now with Google’s latest update, you can use this voice typing feature to issue commands.

This methodology requires the most effort to implement but it results in the most optimised recurring cost and will provide the best scalability for apps. This involves re-adapting the code of applications and the heavy use of SAAS solutions in order to replace existing hosted applications.

This method utilizes the power of  PAAS services, like transferring a database to an as-a-service model,  the use of containers for some apps or the use of network/security functions as a service. Greater scalability and lower cost of operation is achieved.

the migration of workloads from  to the cloud without changing the architecture. Machines get to keep their  OS and apps. This is the quickest and easy way to migrate, but since its  utilising IAAS, its is also the most expensive on the long term.
